Those tiny little perfect moments…

The art of photographing a person, or people, is not just in the technique of the camera, light, choices of settings, or even the suggested pose. Those are important, but to really and honestly capture an emotion, the photographer has to FEEL the emotion that is about to happen

…..Those tiny little perfect moments…..

The photographer has to understand people and learn how to influence them to show their own emotions.

Good portrait photographers are the ultimate Psychologists.

Photos by me, Sara Beth, and are of a darling client Lisa and her hubby Neill as they got back from their elopement. Photographs taken at Simply Done Catering in Collierville, TN.

The Autumn Leaves drift by my window…

…the Autumn Leaves of red and gold

There is a great old jazz ballad that my old friend, Hayden, used to sing all the time. It reminds me of this time of the year. It maybe a little sad, really, but the tune is so lovely you forget what its about.

Cheers to Autumn’s leaves before the winter’s cold.

PS I refuse to sing a single Christmas carol until AFTER Turkey Day.  What is WITH all the Christmas Cheer?!

I had such a great time last weekend auditing the Melanie Smith-Taylor clinic at Oak View Stables! Watch out for an article and more pics from the clinic in Midsouth Horse Review.

In the meantime, here are some quiet moments for you to enjoy:

RIDERS! I will have some images for you to purchase if you are interested. Please follow my Facebook Page for the link!

” Babies are such a nice way to start people….”

I was so thrilled to hear from the Green family.  I photographed their wedding back in April of 2007, and they have obviously been quite busy since then! Now that they are back in the Memphis area they asked me to photograph their new sweeeeet baby boy, Roman and of course their other two big babies!. I <3 this little family.

With Newborns I strive to create a natural portrait environment….very little props and natural positions. I spend a great deal of time with them in mom or dad’s arms as well.  I’m so happy with these natural and real images. What do you guys think?
